General Meeting – Term 1, 2016

Hi!

Thanks to everyone who attended our first meeting of the year (the AGM) and thank you to everyone who nominated for committee positions. Our next meeting (the first General Meeting of the year) is on Tuesday 15th March, at 7pm in the school library (Week 7).

At the AGM, we successfully filled the majority of our committees and executive, however we are still looking for four to six members for the Fundraising Committee, and a Secretary (a member of the Executive Committee).

The Fundraising Committee is responsible for running all the events throughout the year, such as the discos, and the lap-a-thon. Without a committee these events will not be able to happen this year. There is a wealth of information and templates for the running of these events, so it is not a huge amount of work, and there are many P&C members who are happy to help out.

The Secretary of the P&C is responsible for taking minutes at the meetings (we have one per term), and is also responsible for collecting reports prior to the meetings and putting together the agenda and meeting packs. The Secretary needs to go through any correspondence and also keeps track of membership of the P&C. Without a Secretary the P&C will have an incomplete Executive, and would need to be dissolved. All money in the P&C bank accounts would be lost, and distributed to other schools in the area. We would also no longer be able to run events or provide support to the school.

I encourage anyone who would like to contribute to the school community to put their hand up to help out.
